What exactly is a fractional CFO?
A fractional CFO is a Chief Financial Officer you share. You get senior financial leadership for a fraction of the time, and a fraction of the cost, of a full time hire. The easiest way to understand the role is to see where it sits next to the people you may already work with.

Records the past
Looks backward
Keeps your transactions accurate and current. Categorizes activity, reconciles accounts, and keeps the books clean.
Accountant / Tax Preparer
Reports the past

Turns clean books into financial statements and tax returns. Keeps you compliant and filed on time.
Fractional CFO
Shapes the future

How fractional CFO pricing works
It helps to know the market before you compare quotes. In 2026, most fractional CFOs charge either by the hour (roughly $175 to $450) or on a fixed monthly retainer. For small and mid sized businesses, those retainers typically land between $5,000 and $7,500 a month, and can run higher for complex or high growth companies.
I work on a monthly retainer rather than by the hour on purpose. It ties my success to your outcomes, not to a clock. You never have to think twice about a quick call or a fast question, because you are paying for results and judgment, not billable minutes.
Where your number lands inside the market depends on a handful of real factors, listed here. We work through them together on your free call, then I send a written proposal within 24 hours.
What shapes your quote
The five things I weigh for every engagement.
- Revenue and stageA steady $500K business and a fast scaling $8M business need different support.
- ComplexityMultiple entities, locations, grant funding, or investor reporting all add depth.
- Scope of workLight monthly oversight versus full forecasting, modeling, and board prep.
- Timeline and urgencyA calm ongoing partnership versus a fast turnaround for financing or a deadline.
- Condition of your booksClean, current books cost less to build on than records that need cleanup first.

The Real Math
A full CFO's judgment, at a fraction of the cost.
Hiring a Chief Financial Officer full time is out of reach for most growing businesses. Fractional support gives you the same senior thinking, scaled to what you actually need.

Why Work With Me
You get a CFO who has actually run the numbers.
I spent over 15 years in accounting and corporate finance, including managing more than $500K in monthly accounts receivable inside a corporate environment. I have sat where the real financial pressure lives. Now I bring that same discipline to businesses and nonprofits that deserve senior level guidance without a senior level payroll cost. When you hire Parks Projects NJ, you work directly with me on every call and every deliverable. No junior staff, no hand offs.
Common Questions
Answers before you have to ask.
How is a fractional CFO different from my accountant or bookkeeper?
Your bookkeeper records what already happened and your accountant reports and files it. A fractional CFO looks forward. I use your numbers to forecast cash, plan budgets, model decisions, and guide strategy. The roles work together, they do not replace each other.
Do I have to leave my current bookkeeper or accountant?
Not at all. I am happy to work alongside your existing team and simply add the strategic layer on top. If you would prefer one firm to handle everything, I can also manage your bookkeeping, accounting, and tax under one roof.
Is my business big enough to need a CFO?
If you are making decisions that involve real money (hiring, borrowing, expanding, pricing) then you are big enough to benefit. Most clients come to me somewhere between $100K and $10M in revenue, but the right time is really about complexity, not size.
How much of my time does this take?
Very little. Most of the work happens on my side. Your main commitment is a monthly or twice monthly strategy call, plus quick questions in between. The goal is to save you time, not add to your plate.
Do you offer fractional CFO support to nonprofits?
Yes. Nonprofits are a core part of my work. I provide budgeting, grant and fund oversight, and board ready reporting. I also serve as Treasurer of a 501(c)(3), so I understand the responsibilities from both sides of the table.
Is everything really virtual?
Yes. I serve clients across all 50 states through secure video calls, cloud based document sharing, and online financial systems. Location is never a barrier to getting senior financial guidance.
